Include: correspondence; deeds; bills, receipts, and account books; legal papers, including voluminous probate records; surveys; certificates and diplomas; items of artifactual interest (e.g. wallets). Brooks' broad circle of clients, correspondents, and other contacts included: John Adams; Joseph Brown; Samuel Burr; Jonathan Davis; Josiah Davis; Abiel Heywood; Jonas Heywood; Phineas How; Isaac Hurd, Jr.; William Parkman; John Prescott; Ezra Ripley; Daniel Shattuck; Lemuel Shattuck. (Cont.) Cyrus Stow; John Thoreau; Elijah Wood; various members of Barrett, Brooks, Davis, Hosmer, Minot, Prescott, and other Concord families. Business records--including materials relating to Concord Mill Dam Co., Middlesex Mutual Fire Insurance Co., Boston, Lexington, and Concord Accommodation Stage, and Union Turnpike--are scattered throughout papers. Series Abel Moore Papers reflects largely on Moore's business activities, which included involvement in Concord Steam Mill Co. Tilly Merrick Papers. (Cont.) and Brooks Family Papers include records of Tilly Merrick's business dealings and papers of various members of the Merrick and Brooks families.
